Let’s Play Catch-up!

Before I get started, I need to bitch about something. Why is it, when you're on the phone with someone—and you can't understand what the hell they're saying—and say, "Pardon?" And they SCREAM AT YOU INTO THE PHONE-BUT STILL MUMMBLE-SO YOU STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND!!!! I almost screamed back at this old man today. I didn’t, because I am a nice person…heh.

What is there to say about the weeks since Lauren left? Well, a hell of a lot actually. While all you beautiful people have been marauding around doing your thing, I’ve been:

Playing the gay scene with MGFM - this is much more exciting then it sounds, do to the fact that there are drag shows and bi boys and, according to the gay population of Toronto, I have perfect breasts. Really, they made sure to check, even had a line up in the girls bathroom to “feel ‘em”…which is EXACTLY as weird as it sounds.

Meeting Kelley Armstrong - And some of her other fans in Toronto...Okay guys, this is the author I mentioned here. It’s a very, very (very, very, very) strange thing to meet a person who’s head you’ve been in. That is to say, you’ve read their characters, ideas, etc…and now you get to see the living, breathing person behind all of it. She’s super cool and laid back. I expected her to be a little more energetic, but that’s probably because I always assume people are running off the same battery pack I am…yeah, not so much, apparently.

Dressing up like a Vampire for Halloween – I know, I know…ssssssssoooooooooooo overdone and outplayed, especially for me…but I didn’t have much of a choice. After a good run of costumes (Bettie Page, Selene from Underworld, etc) I just didn’t have any ideas. There were no movie heroines lying around that inspired me to emulate them…so I went with the generic. Teeth, red dress, fishnet thigh-highs with bows at the top, black heals, crazy hair, Heroin make-up, you know the drill. Although I’d wanted to go to a “multisexual” club, MGFM ended up taking us to another gay bar. Awkward moment of my year, one of MGFM’s ex’s starts coming on to me…like full on indecent proposal. Not okay.

FINALLY Getting my stuff from Vegas – As exciting as this sounds…it’s still not in storage, or even somewhere I can easily get at it. Honestly, I have enough bruises on my body from climbing up and over boxes/crates/skids to call my ethnicity “blue.” While I was going though shit, I came across a box with a big, wet stain on the corner…That’s right, boys and girls, my father and brother thought packing the food that my mother and I said to throw away would be a good idea. Those boxes went straight into the garbage. I did manage to get some sweaters pulled, which is sort of essential because we’re getting to the point where a “hot” day is 72*F…don’t have the hangers to put them away…but really, got to be thankful for what I have, right?

Getting a new Cousin – Elia…sounds like Aaliyah...she’s so beautiful and little…dark brown hair and generic baby colored eyes…soooo little! And so well behaved! No crying out of that one. Mom’s doing great so yeah, and congrats to the entire family. (You too, Jocelyn! Now you get to be a big sister!) So, so, so cute! So little! The hands are like, awe. And her little feet! And all that fuzzy hair! Am I gushing? Woops…moving on.

Going to the Gym – WOHOOO! Finally my gym opened. So excited about that one. I’ve been going, abet irregularly. I’ve worked back into an easy two mile run, but I hope to get up to four by the middle of December. Merry Christmas abs? We’ll see.

Not drinking Diet Coke – In a move that will surely shock the world…I have not had caffeine in over a week now. For those of you random bloggers out there, who are like, yeah, and…? Let me just put things into perspective for you. You know those smokers who go through a pack a day? Then…if it’s the weekend and they’re hanging out and they have a second pack, they smoke that as well. Picturing it? Okay, now instead of smokers, insert Diet Coke drinkers. That’s me. 12-Pack in one day? Please, that’s amateur stats.

So, now you’re caught up, and the next blog will be fun current events…unless I’ve forgotten something…in which case you’ll get another crazy blog…er…something.

Right, well, on that note!

Quote of the Moment: “…in a weird way it makes me feel better to know that someone is more stressed out than me. I know that is bad…”
Soundtrack of the Moment: MGFM’s Mix CD
TV/Movie Quote: From Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, “I’ve a test today. that wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who cares if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists. It still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus and I'd still have to bum rides off of people.”
